St. Peter Catholic Church Prepares for 32nd Annual
Harvest Festival
September 13, 2009
Come for the food . . . Stay for the fun!
St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall,
Missouri, will host its 32nd annual Harvest Festival
Sunday, September 13, 2009, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
The church is located at 1801 South Miami Street in
Marshall.
The traditional buffet style dinner will be served
in the air-conditioned dining room from 11:00 a.m.
through 5:30 p.m. The menu includes roast
beef/fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy,
coleslaw, corn, green beans, homemade bread,
dessert, and drink. Prices are $9 for adults, $4
for children 12 and under, and free for
children 5 & under.
A
FREE Sacred Music Concert featuring Platinum
recording artist Tajci will be held at 3:00 p.m.
inside the church. Tajci became a superstar in
Central Europe at the age of 19, but her “dream come
true” also brought feelings of isolation and
emptiness. After coming to the United States in
1991, she found her faith and now shares the story
of her spiritual healing with audiences around the
world. This inspirational concert is sponsored by
the donations of several local businesses and
individuals and shouldn’t be missed.
Many other fun activities will be featured
throughout the day. A big raffle drawing will be
held with tickets for sale all afternoon. The top
prize again this year is $1,000. Football fans can
relax in the Chiefs tent with kick-off at
noon and a refreshment stand nearby. A set of four
Chiefs tickets is also being raffled.
The “Country Attic” arts and crafts booth will offer
a wide array of quality items for sale as well as a
raffle drawing for several prizes. The famous
Harvest Festival cinnamon rolls are also available
in this booth. Two beautiful quilts made by the
Altar and Rosary Society will be auctioned at 5 p.m.
Bingo players will enjoy an afternoon of excitement
in the BINGO tent. Again this year, kids can spend
the day playing familiar carnival games and winning
prizes. All ages will enjoy the favorite bounce
house and dunking booth.
Live music will be performed throughout the day,
including the group Cristo Rey, in addition to the
FREE Sacred Music Concert at 3:00 p.m. inside the
church. |
