Mission Statement

We, the Parish of St. Peter in Marshall, MO., by virtue of our baptism, are a Catholic Christian community called to bring about the redemptive power of Jesus through the sacraments. We endeavor to keep abreast of a changing world and the rites of the church so that we may truly understand the loving relationship we have with God our Father, and our Brothers and Sisters in the faith. We therefore resolve to be a Eucharistic people, knowing that Christ is our head, and we are the members of His body the church striving to treat all members of this family in the loving and reconciling manner.

St. Peter parish, approximate 550 families, is proud and conscious of its tradition. The faith community of St. Peters gives witness to its faith in contemporary forms.  The parish has a strong tradition in ecumenism, social action, and community involvement. It is the site of a Catholic school to which the parish is committed to religious education and the formation of character of its youth.  From its origins there has been a commitment to liturgical excellence with the celebration of Eucharist as the center and the reason for our being, "the traditional church with the contemporary message." Our faith witness is rooted in scriptures and the 2000 years of lived experiences that is the church, but our voice is the voice of Vatican II.  We are the people of God, living our faith, in the heart of Saline County knowing each other, helping each other, forgiving each other, but in all our ups and downs, giving "...thanks to God and Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ. For in our union with Christ He has blessed us by giving us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly world." (Ephesians 1:3)
